Idaho State Parks and Recreation manages 30 Idaho state parks, and a variety of programs designed to provide recreation facilities for the people of Idaho and those who travel to the state. This site gives detailed information on tent and RV camping, hiking, biking, boating, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and other Idaho recreational activities. The major portion of the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes, between Harrison and Mullan, is administered by this agency.

The mission of the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation is to oversee the maintenance and continued improvement of the existing Trail that extends 23 miles from the Idaho/Washington state line to Blue Creek Bay, 6 miles east of Coeur d'Alene. The Foundation also promotes, recommends, and assists with the standardization of Trail designs and construction in Kootenai County.

The Coeur d'Alene Indian Tribe has sovereign authority on a reservation covering 345,000 acres of mountains, lakes, timber and farmland, spanning the western edge of the northern Rocky Mountains and the abundant Palouse country. The southern portion of the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes, between Plummer and Harrison, is administered by the Tribe.

The Rails to Trails Conservancy is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enrich America's communities and countryside by creating a nationwide network of public trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors.
