The annual Huckleberry Festival in Wallace will be on Friday and Saturday, August 20 and 21, 2010. Last year, we held two bicycle events on Saturday, a hill climb to Dobson Pass and a criterium. The latter event was series of races on a five block downtown course. This meant that we had to block traffic on Cedar, Seventh, Bank and Sixth Streets for several hours in the afternoon. This year, the Huckleberry Festival coincides with the centennial commemoration of the Great Fire of 1910. Hundreds of extra folks will be in town for this important commemoration, and blocking the required streets for a criterium is simply not feasible. So we thought that we would simply stage the Huckleberry Hill Climb in the morning, and make plans for the 2011 Huckleberry Criterium.

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the Huckleberry Bicycle Hill Climb scheduled for Saturday, August 21, 2010, because of unexpected construction on Dobson Pass Road.

The two day Bike MS Tour of the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes will be on Saturday and Sunday, September 18-19, 2010. The Multiple Sclerosis Society invites you to cycle a Northwest treasure and embark on a two day, 150 mile journey along the beautiful Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes that includes:

  • rest/food stops every 12-18 miles
  • bike mechanics
  • medical and communication support
  • catered meals
  • Saturday Celebration Dinner
To learn more or to register, go to the National Multiple Sclerosis' event details page, or call (509) 482-2022 or (800) 344-4867. A minumum fundraising goal of $250 is required for each sponsored rider.
