Huckleberry Festival
in Wallace will be on
Friday and Saturday, August
14-15, 2009.
This year, a bicycle hill climb to the top of Dobson Pass
will begin at 9:00 AM, and will be followed by six races
through town ("criteriums") in the afternoon, beginning at 2:00 PM.
These new events are in addition to the traditional 5K Huckleberry
Fun Run/walk in the morning,
held each year in conjunction with a Huckleberry Pancake Breakfast.
The bicycle races with their cash and other prizes will attract new
bicycle visitors to Wallace, and serve as a fund raising event for
the Friends of the Coeur d'Alenes.
The First Annual Dobson Pass Hill Climb is not for the faint of heart.
This challenging course will see road riders battle the formidable steeps
of Dobson Pass with cash and prizes to category winners.
The First Annual Huckleberry Festival Criterium will feature the
fastest racers in the Northwest. This "grand prix" style bicycle race
will follow a course through Historic Downtown Wallace for lap after lap
of high speed thrills with cash and prizes.
